Personal Statement
Joseph Magallanes is a compassionate grief counselor located in Houston, TX. His training is in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M University - San Antonio where he obtained his Master’s degree in 2018. During his training, Joseph completed a two-term internship with the Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas helping families in individual and group counseling process the loss of a loved one. He has since continued professional counseling within the Houston area for a range of persons including Spanish speaking individuals, men and women, adolescents and kids on topics such as, grief and loss, transitions of life, emotional issues, self-esteem, and symptoms of anxiety and depression. Joseph specializes in grief and loss/bereavement counseling and utilizes a philosophical and creative approach to inspire hope, provide insight, and demonstrate compassion to his clients.
Joseph strives to provide compassionate, safe care and emotional trauma prevention/first-response for parents of palliative care patients through empathic listening and grief counseling within the scope of professional, therapeutic trust.
