Personal Statement
Practicing physical therapy allows me the opportunity to provide a hands-on approach to patients with mobility and function issues following a disabling or injurious event. I believe that physical therapy interventions include understanding the concepts of movement, alignment and facilitation to promote a better quality of movement while also having the added benefit of improving strength, pain management and balance, regardless of the injury or deficit. There is often a lack of understanding of what and/or how physical therapy can benefit a person, and as a physical therapist, I can foster a better understanding — specifically for the purpose of helping the patient achieve improved, more pain free mobility.
