Personal Statement
Sports Nutrition is a key component in preventing/treating exercise-related illness and injury as well as elevating an athlete’s health and performance. Athletes are human and can have unique clinical needs that are exacerbated by high activity levels and competitive training programs. My background as a sports dietitian and scientist allow me to combine clinical nutrition with sports-specific nutrition to provide individualized, evidence-based care to athletes of all ages and activity levels. I am passionate about helping athletes create resilient relationships with food, mind, and body that can be carried with them from childhood to adulthood.
Clinical Interests: relative energy deficiency in Sport (REDs), disordered eating, endocrinology
Research Interests: the impact of the menstrual cycle on metabolism, exercise physiology and performance; wearable devices; low energy availability
