Get to know Brittney Purcell, MS
Personal Statement
Brittney earned her B.S degree in Exercise Physiology from East Carolina University (ECU). During her time there, she became fascinated with biomechanics and gained an interest in neuro-motor control. She then began volunteering in the Sensory-Motor Integration Lab where she worked with electroencephalography (EEG) and motion capture systems before beginning an internship in the Performance Optimization Lab. Brittney continued her education at ECU and earned her Master’s degree in Biomechanics and Motor Control. During this time, she worked on sport performance related projects and also earned a certificate in sports management. Brittney joined Texas Children’s Hospital in June of 2021 and has a passion for working with kids, which helped her to join the Texas Children’s team.
Clinical Interests:
Motion analysis and performance optimization with an interest in sport performance through the utilization of motion capture.
