About

Dr. Sherri Birchansky is a Pediatric Neuroradiologist, board certified in diagnostic radiology with additional subspecialty board certifications in neuroradiology and pediatric radiology. With a college bachelor degree in chemistry, graduating top in her class summa cum laude, she went on to complete her M.D. degree and earn membership into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Fascinated with the emerging use of cutting edge technology in the diagnosis and understanding of disease, she then completed diagnostic radiology residency and subsequently separate subspecialty fellowships in neuroradiology, pediatric radiology and musculoskeletal MRI.

Dr. Birchansky is presently Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology at Baylor College of Medicine. She was former head of CT & MRI at Miami Children's Hospital and previously Chief of Neuroradiology at the Hospital for Special Surgery with appointment as Associate Professor Clinical Radiology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. She is a senior member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, founding member of American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology and also has memberships in Society of Pediatric Radiology, American College of Radiology, Society of Skeletal Radiology, Texas Radiologic Society, among others. The Consumers Research Council of America has repeatedly named her among America's Top Radiologists and America's Top Physicians.

Dr. Birchansky is a popular lecturer and passionate about teaching/mentoring the next generation of physicians. She has presented at numerous educational conferences including national and local scientific meetings, authored or coauthored over 35 scientific abstracts & publications, is a contributing author to neuroradiology textbooks and served as editorial board reviewer for the American Journal of Neuroradiology.

Her interests include all facets of pediatric neuroradiology, with particular expertise in MR and CT imaging. Dr. Birchansky feels honored to be part of Texas Children's Hospital and work among so many outstanding professionals who share the commitment to compassionate & quality care of our children.
