I believe that good medicine starts with a compassion for people and a heart to serve those in need.

I began my journey into the science, technology, engineering and mathematics arena as an electrical engineering major, receiving a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering. Intrigued by radiofrequency transmission systems and inner cochlear implants designed for children born with hearing deficits, I completed graduate study and research to earn a Masters of Biomedical Engineering. I ventured into medicine with a mind geared towards pediatric outcomes and improving the monitoring systems designed for smaller patients.

Along the course of my anesthesiology training and junior faculty transition, I have taken an active role in the teaching of residents and fellows, waste management streams, operational work-flow leadership, neurosurgical research, regional anesthesia/pain management, teaching workshops and the pursuit of evidence-based medicine practice in the clinical care arena.

It is my aim to continue to provide the highest quality of empathetic clinical care to pediatric patient populations. I look forward to enhancing the practice of pediatrics through learning from and with other physicians, reviewing best practices and critically assessing the present standards, training medical students, pediatric and anesthesiology residents with evidence-based medicine/ongoing review of the literature and adapting to the ever-evolving practice of medicine.
