Personal Statement
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker with 20 years of experience in school-based social service provision, community-based non-profit program management and direct clinical care to children, youth and families facing challenges related to poverty, trauma, developmental disabilities and psychosocial barriers to care. My areas of interest include public education advocacy, special education advocacy, family outreach and parenting education. I enjoy working with parents and caregivers on positive behavior management as well as developing programs and innovative ways to reach out to families who are in need of extra support. In addition to my clinical practice, I train families, social workers and other medical learners at all levels about family-centered care, community resources and services, and effective self-advocacy strategies.
