About

While completing my masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Baylor College of Medicine, I found my passion for treating pediatric patients and knew I wanted to work at Texas Children’s Hospital.  I applied for the opportunity to obtain specialized training in different facets of pediatric oriented surgery in the Physician Assistant Post Graduate Program at Texas Children’s Hospital in the Department of Surgery.  The training exposed me to all surgical subspecialties at Texas Children’s Hospital and I found a standout experience in Pediatric Urology.   I have been fortunate enough to join the Urology team and have deeply enjoyed working with our patients and their families to treat and educate about pediatric urological conditions.

My job entails explaining diagnoses and forming a cooperative team with families to form individualized treatment plans for my patients.  I work closely with our urology physicians to ensure the best care possible for those I treat.  I regularly care for patients admitted to the hospital, undergoing surgery, and those who are being seen in clinic. Conditions that I commonly see are foreskin concerns, testicular concerns, enuresis, and urinary tract infections.

In addition to patient care, I enjoy teaching and am Clinical Lead for the Pediatric Surgery Fellowship for Physician Assistants as well as Clerkship Director for the Urology rotation during the Pediatric Surgery Fellowship for Physician Assistants.  These roles give me the opportunity to train and educate new and experienced providers.  Some of my research pursuits focus on patient-centered care models.
