Conferences Pediatric Transplant Nutrition Practicum

The Pediatric Transplant Nutrition Practicums is offered for Registered Dietitians who work in the field of pediatric transplant (liver, lung, heart, kidney).

Purpose and Content

This program reviews the basics in pediatric nutrition and transplant. Topics including pediatric transplant evaluation, nutritional assessment, nutrition education and challenging cases in enteral and parenteral nutrition for various transplant patients are emphasized.

Discussion among physicians and dietitians is primarily informal. The course pivots around practical experience and serves as time to receive a broad overview of pediatric transplant nutrition with the largest pediatric transplant program.

Participants

This program is designed for Registered Dietitians employed within pediatrics or a pediatric transplant program.

Environment

The program will be based at main campus Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Continuing Education Accreditation

Texas Children’s Hospital is a Continuing Professional Education Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Registered Dietitians will receive approximately 20 continuing professional education units for completion of this program.

Program Dates

The Pediatric Transplant Nutrition Practicum will be offered two times this year. Course dates for 2024 are:

  • February 5th - 9th  (Applications due December 1st, 2023 )
  • September 30th - October 4th  (Applications due July 3rd 2024)

Registration Fee

There is no registration charge.
