Advancing Pediatric Brain and Spinal Cord Tumor Care Through Research and Innovation

The Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Program is committed to advancing the field of pediatric neuro-oncology through the integration of state-of-the-art clinical care and innovative scientific research. Our multidisciplinary team of physicians and scientists is dedicated to improving survival outcomes and enhancing the quality of life for children affected by these complex and life-threatening conditions.

Our program is guided by two principal objectives:

  • Investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying tumor initiation and progression
  • Implementing the most advanced therapeutic interventions to increase cure rates and reduce treatment-related morbidity

Through rigorous scientific inquiry, we aim to develop novel, targeted therapies that not only improve efficacy but also mitigate the debilitating side effects commonly associated with conventional treatments.

Our program explores a wide range of cutting-edge research topics, including:

We also work closely with the Developmental Therapeutics Program at Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center, recognized as one of the nation’s premier institutions for pediatric drug development. This collaboration accelerates the discovery and clinical translation of novel pharmacologic agents aimed at improving therapeutic outcomes for children diagnosed with brain and spinal cord tumors.
