That's why we coordinate research across the Texas Children’s healthcare system, in our Discovery Research Centers, the hospital's clinical Centers of Excellence, and individual investigator labs. We also collaborate with the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children's Hospital, complementing its renowned work. And because our innovative research programs are part of the nation’s largest pediatric hospital, we’re able to uniquely bridge the gap between discovery science and translational research to clinical applications.

Since its founding in 1954, Texas Children’s Hospital has been at the forefront of pediatric care, education, and research. In 1977, Dr. Ralph D. Feigin ushered in a new era of boundary-breaking, lifesaving pediatric research at both Texas Children’s and Baylor College of Medicine. Today, we’re proud to carry this legacy of excellence into the 21st century, as we aim to transform how we understand, diagnose, and treat diseases for each patient.
Our six specialized Discovery Research Centers each pursue groundbreaking early-stage discoveries, our six interconnected Precision Medicine domains translate that research into personalized treatments, and our clinical investigators then bring these advances directly to our clinic and hospital patients. We’re also committed to enhancing human health by pioneering research on disease prevention, mitigating disease risk, and improving physical and mental fitness.
