Events Salute to Champions

The Salute to Champions Luncheon, presented by HPE and featuring the Runway for a Cure, is a heartfelt celebration of courage, generosity and community. This signature event brings together some of Houston’s most generous community leaders, our Community Champions, with remarkable Patient Champions to honor hope, resilience and the power of partnership. This year’s 15th anniversary was especially meaningful, welcoming back former Patient Champions and Community Champions to reunite on the runway and celebrate the lasting connections created through this special event. Now part of the Kinder Children’s Cancer Center, Salute to Champions continues to support vital pediatric cancer research and care, helping create brighter futures for patients and families. A special thank you to founding chairs Elsie Eckert, Sidney Faust and Judi McGee, whose vision created this meaningful event and whose leadership and dedication have helped shape it for the past 15 years. Special recognition also goes to Lenny and Tamera for their creativity, production and partnership in bringing Salute to Champions to life year after year.
