How Dr. Jennifer Foster is Advancing Childhood Cancer Research

Health Briefs

Sharing a ‘Behind the Scenes' article from The Children's Oncology Group Foundation that features Dr. Jennifer Foster, MD, MPH from Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Center. https://www.thecogfoundation.org/behind-the-scenes-how-research-ideas-become-cog-clinical-trials.html

It offers a rare look at how new treatments for childhood cancer are developed—and the rigorous process behind them. Thanks to support from The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, Dr. Foster completed and analyzed a promising trial for children with difficult-to-treat tumors. A great example of how philanthropy can drive progress in pediatric cancer care.

A national leader in her field, Dr. Foster holds prestigious roles as Vice Chair of Developmental Therapeutics at COG, and as Vice Chair of the Pediatric Early Phase Clinical Trial Network at the National Cancer Institute. She is also on the Advisory Board for the Americas for the Advances in Neuroblastoma Research Association. These roles reflect her leadership in advancing safer, more effective treatments—and in mentoring the next generation of clinical researchers.
