Scheurer to lead brain tumor consortium

Dr. Michael Scheurer, professor of pediatrics – hematology/oncology and co-leader of the cancer prevention and population sciences program at the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center, was recently named U.S. co-president of the Brain Tumor Epidemiology Consortium for a two-year term. He served as U.S. co-vice president for the last two years and as treasurer from 2012-2020. The goals of the consortium’s international group of researchers are to learn the causes of brain tumors, reduce the incidence through prevention and early detection and improve outcomes for those diagnosed with these diseases.
