Schraw receives F. Clarke Fraser New Investigator Award

Dr. Jeremy Schraw at Texas Children’s Hospital recently received the F. Clarke Fraser New Investigator Award. This honor was presented to him at the 2024 meeting of the Society for Birth Defects Research and Prevention.

As a recipient of this award, he will begin serving on the Society’s Awards Committee. Also, while at the meeting, Dr. Schraw organized and co-chaired a session titled, "Congenital Anomalies in Minoritized Populations: Factors Affecting Prevalence and Outcomes.”  

The F. Clark New Investigator Award recognizes independent researchers who are experts in their field and have demonstrated excellence through journal publications, grant funding and mentorship. Dr. Schraw is a molecular epidemiologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Hematology-Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine. His research interests include structural birth defects and childhood cancer. He uses large-scale, population-based registry data and genomics to identify risk factors for these diseases and conditions.
