Faculty Award Ceremony honors Poplack, Bomgaars, Magee

Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center hosted its first Faculty Awards Ceremony. The gathering, hosted by Center Director Dr. Susan Blaney, celebrated faculty accomplishments, honored past Director Dr. David Poplack, and announced the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Quality Safety (PHOQS) Awardees. The event was topped off with socializing and refreshments.
Dr. David Poplack's contributions were a key focus. He served as Center Director for 25 years, the Director of Global HOPE for 5 years, and recently received the 2023 Excellence in Teaching Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
The PHOQS Award recognized Dr. Lisa Bomgaars and Kathleen Magee for their contributions to establishing a multidisciplinary committee, which has served to promote a collaborative culture of quality improvement and safety.
