Fleet and Equipment
Texas Children's Kangaroo Crew® is serious about safety and speed during the transport of each patient. We provide the highest transport expertise using a safe, modern fleet and state-of the-art ground, fixed wing and rotor wing transport equipment.
Our vehicles are expertly maintained to be ready at a moment's notice and adhere to the strictest safety standards. The Kangaroo Crew® fleet includes:
- 6 ground ambulances in Houston
- 2 ground ambulances in Austin
- A specially modified Pilatus PC-24 Jet Aircraft for long distance transports throughout the United States
- A Bell 407 Helicopter based in Houston for emergent transports
Our ground and air ambulances are mobile intensive care units equipped with specialized portable equipment designed specifically for newborn/pediatric air management, IV therapy and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. To provide the best possible care while en route to Texas Children’s, each vehicle in the fleet also is outfitted with:
- Cardiorespiratory and hemodynamic monitors
- Defibrillators with external pacemakers
- ECMO transport capabilities
- TXP high frequency neonatal ventilation
- Emergency medications
- Infusion devices
- Intubation equipment
- Life-support system, ventilators
