Conditions

All children occasionally have trouble focusing, listening and behaving appropriately. Children with ADHD exhibit these behaviors with far greater frequency and severity. The symptoms can often cause problems at home and school. Complicated ADHD refers to ADHD that’s accompanied by other coexisting medical conditions. A child with complicated ADHD might have symptoms beyond those that fit the typical definition of ADHD.   

ASDs encompass a wide range of developmental conditions characterized by differences in social communication, behavior and interests, including autism and Asperger’s syndrome.  

Anxiety is a common mental health condition marked by excessive worry, fear and physical symptoms, such as rapid heart rate, often triggered by perceived threats or stressors.  

Bipolar disorder is a type of mood disorder characterized by extreme mood swings and fluctuation in energy and activity levels. There’s no cure for bipolar disorder, but with therapy and medications, it’s possible for children to live healthy lives.  

Mood disorders are a group of mental health conditions like depression and bipolar disorder that impact a child’s emotional state, causing prolonged periods of low or elevated mood.  

Tics are sudden, repetitive, non-rhythmic movements or vocal sounds that children may not be able to control, often associated with conditions like Tourette’s syndrome. 

Tourette’s syndrome is a neurological disorder characterized by motor and vocal tics, typically developing in childhood and often accompanied by other conditions like ADHD.
