Referring Provider Instructions
General Information
Patients must be between the ages of 10-24 years to qualify for adolescent medicine services at Texas Children's Hospital.
General Adolescent Medicine needs: between ages 10 - 24 years of age
Eating Disorders: between ages 10 - 18 years of age
The Texas Children's Adolescent Medicine Section offers subspecialty consultation services only, and does not follow patients for primary care.
Availability of ancillary services with our psychology and dietitian team members is limited and reserved for acute eating disorder patients at this time. We would encourage families to seek out outside therapy and dietitian options while they are awaiting an appointment with our department whenever possible.
Adolescent Medicine is not currently seeing consults solely for transition to adult care.
Review guidelines To ensure that your patient receives the best possible care, please review the referral guidelines below and submit the requested information with the online referral form. Failure to adhere with the guidance below may result in patient care delays.
