Get to know Timothy C. Lee, MD
Dr. Timothy Lee is a steering committee associate director of the Fetal Center and director of the Colorectal and Pelvic Health Program. He received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in 2001, continued at BCM to pursue his residency in general surgery and completed his fellowship in pediatric surgery at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in 2010. During his fellowship, Dr. Lee trained under some of the current leaders and pioneers in colorectal surgery. Today, he specializes in the surgical treatment and management of complex conditions of the colon and rectum, including bowel management. He also specializes in the study of fetal therapies and neonatal surgical research. One of his active areas of research is in the development of prospective clinical research program which will be able to study clinical outcomes in an evidence-based manner. The focus of this research will be concentrated in neonates that present with surgical diseases such as congenital diaphragmatic hernia, gastroschisis, necrotizing enterocolitis, and the use extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for cardiorespiratory failure.
Dr. Lee is certified by the American Board of Surgery in Surgery and Pediatric Surgery.
