[person:personal_statement]
As an advanced practice provider in pediatric critical care, I am dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to our most vulnerable patients. With a deep commitment to both clinical excellence and systems improvement, I strive to create meaningful change in the care of critically and chronically ill children.
My clinical interests center around the evaluation and management of brief resolved unexplained events (BRUE), a complex and often anxiety-provoking diagnosis for families and clinicians alike. I am passionate about standardizing approaches to BRUE to improve diagnostic accuracy, minimize unnecessary interventions, and support families with clear communication and education.
In the fast-paced environment of critical care, effective communication is essential. I actively work to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration during patient care rounds, ensuring that all voices are heard and that our shared goals for patient safety and recovery are achieved. I am also committed to improving the efficiency and usability of electronic health record documentation, aiming to reduce administrative burden while preserving the accuracy and clarity of our clinical narratives.
Finally, I recognize the challenges faced by families of chronically ill children during transitions of care. I have a strong interest in optimizing the discharge process to ensure continuity, reduce readmissions, and empower caregivers through structured education and support.
With every patient encounter, I aim to combine clinical expertise with a systems-based approach to care delivery, always advocating for the best possible outcomes for our patients and their families.
