Muhammed Talha Gunduz, MD

Dr. Muhammed Talha Gunduz is a Neurologist and Headache Medicine Specialist whose clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of primary and secondary headache disorders in both adults and children. His areas of expertise include migraine, chronic migraine, cluster headache, post-traumatic headache, trigeminal neuralgia, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, spontaneous intracranial hypotension and other complex headache conditions. He also performs a wide range of headache procedures, including onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox) injections, peripheral nerve blocks, trigger point injections and sphenopalatine ganglion blocks.

Dr. Gunduz has a strong interest in advancing headache care through clinical research, quality improvement and medical education. His research focuses on the relationship between migraine and dysautonomia spectrum disorders, with an emphasis on improving early recognition and patient outcomes. He is actively involved in the education of medical students, residents and fellows, and contributes to the development of innovative headache medicine training programs.

In addition to his academic and clinical responsibilities, Dr. Gunduz is committed to serving underserved communities through volunteer medical work and is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered neurological care.

I believe the best patient care begins with listening. Every patient has a unique story, and my goal is to understand not only their symptoms but also how their condition affects their daily life, family, work and overall well-being. I strive to provide compassionate, evidence-based care while partnering with my patients to develop individualized treatment plans that align with their goals and values.

As a headache specialist, I enjoy caring for patients with both common and complex headache disorders. I take a comprehensive approach that combines lifestyle modifications, preventive and acute therapies, procedural treatments when appropriate and patient education. I believe that empowering patients with knowledge about their condition is an essential part of successful treatment and helps them become active participants in their care.

Beyond my clinical practice, I am passionate about advancing headache medicine through research, quality improvement and medical education. I enjoy teaching medical students, residents and fellows and am committed to improving access to specialized headache care through innovation and collaboration.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our three children. I am also actively involved in community service, volunteering my time to provide medical care for underserved populations through local free clinics. These experiences continually remind me of the importance of compassion, humility, and service, and they reinforce the values I strive to bring to every patient encounter.
