Get to know Gal Barak, MD, MEd
Dr. Barak is a Pediatric Hospitalist who is board certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine. She practices at Texas Children’s Hospital in the Medical Center as well as its West Campus and The Woodlands locations. She strives to provide her patients with evidence-based care and advocates for open communication and collaboration within the interprofessional health care team. She believes that prioritizing family-centered communication is crucial for delivering optimal patient care.
She is also passionate about medical education with a focus on promoting trainee experiences with autonomy and supervision and navigating the interplay between multiple levels of learners on inpatient teams. At Baylor College of Medicine, she serves as the associate clerkship director for the Pediatrics Clerkship and is part of the Academy of Clinical Teachers and Assessors. She has been active in curriculum development and dissemination both locally and nationally, and she is consistently engaged in medical education research.
