Shinya Yamamoto and Anthony Zoghbi win 2025 Mark A. Wallace Endowment Award
Awards

In March, Drs. Shinya Yamamoto and Anthony Zoghbi's proposal, "Combining human genetics and Drosophila models to uncover the role of KCNJ2 in neuropsychiatric disorders", was unanimously selected by the Mark A. Wallace Endowment Award Committee for funding.
They will receive $250,000 for their project which will identify rare variants in the KCNJ2 gene and study these variants' functional consequences. KCNJ2 encodes a potassium channel protein, one of a family of proteins essential for a cell to generate and transmit electrical signals.
