Amanda Child, PhD

Dr. Amanda Child is a licensed psychologist specializing in pediatric neuropsychology. She supports children and adolescents with epilepsy and neurological conditions by conducting evaluations of their cognitive, behavioral and emotional functioning. Many of her patients are being considered for epilepsy surgery, and the findings from her evaluations are used to help the epilepsy team decide how to best treat the child’s epilepsy. In addition, Dr. Child works with families to ensure they understand the findings from the evaluation as well as guide them toward supports and interventions that will help their children continue to develop and learn.

As a pediatric neuropsychologist, I am committed to delivering compassionate and high-quality care to children and their families. I am driven to obtain a deep understanding of each child’s cognitive, behavioral and emotional skills while respecting differing backgrounds and values. Each child is unique, and I focus on recognizing their strengths while addressing areas that need support. I strive to communicate these findings to families and help them understand the supports that will help their child continue to progress. I also work closely with the child’s medical team to ensure a comprehensive approach to the child’s care. My ultimate goal is to empower each child to reach their full potential by providing tailored, empathetic, and collaborative care.
