Get to know Kelly Cline, MD
Dr. Cline is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with a primary focus on the diagnosis, treatment and surgical management of sports-related injuries. She is dual-fellowship trained in both Orthopedic Sports Medicine, as well as Pediatric Orthopedics, so she can safely provide care to athletes of all ages. Younger athletes who are still growing may require an alternative surgical plan, and her training allows her to safely perform these surgeries. Additionally, in her sports medicine fellowship, she covered Division I collegiate athletes for a multitude of different sports. This included sideline and training room coverage, as well as the surgical treatment of injured athletes when needed. She understands how an injury can change an athlete's identity; therefore, her goal is to provide excellent care so the athlete can ultimately return to the sport/activity that they love.

I am dedicated to providing exceptional care to help get athletes back into their sport, at their desired level. I believe it truly takes a team of providers to get an athlete through their injury – from surgery, to rehabilitation, to their ultimate return to sport. I strive to treat the entire athlete, including collaborating with their athletic trainers, physical therapists, coaches and parents to achieve the best possible outcome. I also understand that the treatment of a sports injury can extend beyond the surgery, and there are other factors, such as mental health, nutrition and sports performance, that are also crucial to an athlete's recovery.
My passion for sports extends outside of the hospital setting. I am an avid UT Longhorn fan (Hook ‘em!), and love attending live sporting events whenever possible. I also enjoy finding live music, as a former piano and saxophone player myself.
