Get to know Maria Gabriela Buheis, MD, FAAAAI, FAAP
Dr. Buheis focuses in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases such as food allergy, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, chronic urticaria, drug allergies and asthma. She has a special interest in food allergy and allergic gastrointestinal disease, and is co-director of the Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Diseases clinic at West Campus. In her practice at West Campus, Dr. Buheis works closely together with the families as well as other physicians and team members to provide excellent, comprehensive medical care for children with allergic disease. Dr. Buheis is bilingual in Spanish and English.
Dr. Buheis obtained her Doctorate in Medicine (M.D) from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, in Spain. After graduation, Dr. Buheis completed her residency in Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children’s Hospital, and proceeded to complete a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children’s Hospital. Following fellowship, Dr. Buheis joined the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor in the section of Allergy and Immunology, and opened the Allergy and Immunology West Campus clinic in 2010, where she is clinic chief. She loves helping families in the West Houston area find excellent medical care for their allergic disease close to home.
