[person:personal_statement]
I believe that it is a privilege to treat children who are hospitalized and guide their families through the at times scary and unknown trajectory of illness. I value family participation and live by the principle that while the physician is the expert in medicine, parents are the expert in their children. Guided by this principle, I strive to deliver transparent High Value Care from admission to discharge. I am also an advocate for engaging in shared decision making with families and am developing education for both physician and residents.
