As a licensed master social worker with over four years of experience in the behavioral health field, Abigail Murillo has experience in special education, crisis intervention, counseling and parent education. She has worked as a bilingual professional in various settings in the Greater Houston area, including serving as a trauma-focused clinician in schools, non-profit agencies and hospital settings. Her areas of interest include working with individuals to adopt and implement tools to improve their mental health, guiding families to identify and utilize their strengths, and facilitating support groups. In addition to her clinical practice, she teaches community professionals, medical learners and families about strengths-based and family-centered care, community resources and services and effective advocacy strategies on a local, state and national level.
