Texas Children's and Duncan NRI host a Brain Fair for middle schoolers

The Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children's Hospital hosted a Brain Fair for underrepresented middle-school students on April 5th, 2024. This event was aimed at empowering the students of what neuroscience and neurology could be. This event was a part of Texas Children's Neurology Equity and Unity (NEU) engagement initiative, which is led by a multidisciplinary team of Texas Children's Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, and Duncan faculty committed to reshaping neuroscience by promoting equitable access, fostering inclusive educational ecosystems, and pioneering innovative research for the well-being of diverse communities. 

Inaugural Feigin Rising Stars Research Symposium

The inaugural Feigin Rising Stars Research Symposium will be conducted on 9am to 5pm Thursday, January 18, in the Blue Bird Circle Auditorium, 7th Floor, Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute. This special symposium will feature the best and the brightest young investigators (scientists and physician-scientists) from around the country who are poised to lead their own independent research programs in the next few years. The keynote speaker for the event will be Dr. Mary Armanios, Director of the Telomere Center and Professor of Oncology, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. 

2022 MECP2 Duplication Syndrome Family Conference

This important family conference will bring together physicians, scientists, trainees, and families to discuss current developments in MECP2 duplication syndrome research and patient care. Exciting potential therapeutic interventions will be addressed at the conference on September 23 and 24, 2022.

2022 EBF3 HADDS International Conference

The EBF3-HADDS Foundation was created to promote awareness, research, and support for a rare genetic syndrome discovered in 2016. The foundation will host the annual international conference at the Duncan NRI auditorium on July 21-23, 2022.
