Component 4: Plan for Strategic Action
After formulating the working hypothesis/diagnosis, faculty now turn the group’s attention to a plan for strategic action by asking “how” questions, e.g., “If this is your explanation, this is your goal, and this is your role – how should you handle this?” For cases from the past, the faculty can ask, “How would you manage this situation in the future?”
Faculty must continue to carefully guide this discussion. As participants formulate a plan, the faculty may be required to prompt them. Participants offering a suggestion must also clearly explain their reasoning and any potential consequences of their plan.
