Personal Statement
Taryn E. Townsend, MS, CCC-SLP, CBIS is a Senior Speech-Language Pathologist and Certified Brain Injury Specialist at Texas Children's Hospital. With more than 10 years of experience, Taryn has worked in a variety of settings, including acute care and long-term acute care hospitals with both pediatric and adult populations. She is passionate about her work as a primary clinician in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Transitional Intensive Care Unit (TICU) and Adult Congenital Heart Program where she supports Texas Children's most critically ill patients.
Taryn's clinical philosophy centers around an interdisciplinary approach to patient-centered care with attention to detail and proficiency in the most up-to-date evidence-based practices within speech-language pathology.
Taryn is currently pursuing a Clinical Doctorate Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA.
