Get to know Maria H. Kim, MD
Dr. Kim spent three-and-a-half years providing care to HIV-infected children in Malawi. Along with Dr. Ahmed, she started an outreach program called Tingathe. The program focuses on using community health workers to improve Pediatric HIV and Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) services. Dr. Kim is involved in collaborative pediatric HIV clinical and operations research in Malawi, and her interests include HIV, PMTCT, mental health, malnutrition, and child health in developing countries. Dr. Kim is now working at Baylor in the section of Retrovirology and Global Health and is currently enrolled in the Baylor Clinical Scientist Research Program.
