Get to know Allison Archer Sellner, MD
Allison Sellner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Medical Humanities from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and subsequently completed her Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine as well.
Dr. Sellner considers it an honor to take care of women over the course of a lifetime and throughout some of their most important seasons and milestones. She believes that prioritizing patient autonomy within the physician-patient relationship empowers women to make well-informed decisions about what is best for their own health and wellbeing, both now and in the future.
Dr. Sellner specializes in general obstetrics and gynecology and her clinical interests include pregnancy and well woman care, exercise and nutrition in pregnancy, contraception counseling, basic infertility, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including minimally invasive alternatives to hysterectomy.
Dr. Sellner, once a former public school teacher, is actively involved in resident and medical student education, which requires her to stay up to date on the most current and evidence-based medical practices and standards of care within obstetrics and gynecology.
In her free time, Dr. Sellner enjoys spending time with her husband Mike and goldendoodle “Oso” (bear in Spanish), exploring the ever-changing Houston restaurant scene, traveling, and working out.
Dr. Sellner is currently accepting new patients and looks forward to taking care of you in the near future.
