Priya D. Patel, MPAS, RRT, CRT, PA-C is a certified physician assistant and registered respiratory therapist in the Department of Pediatric General Surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital. She is one of the several Advanced Practice Providers who works with the surgery team to care for patients. Priya is part of the Fetal Surgical Team with Dr. Keswani, Dr. King, and Dr. Lee. Her responsibilities include rounding and managing care for the Texas Children’s Fetal Surgical Team, seeing patients in the outpatient clinic setting, and assisting in the operating room. She is one of two APPs who help care for surgical patients in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Her interests include congenital diaphragmatic hernia, ECMO, mechanical ventilation in neonates, and fetal surgery. In addition to her responsibilities, she is the General Surgery Clerkship Director for the Texas Children’s Hospital Physician Assistant Surgery Fellowship.
Priya received her undergraduate degree in Biology and a minor in Psychology from University of Houston and a Bachelor in Respiratory Care from The University of Texas Medical Branch. She then earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch and is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
