Dr. Revell’s research focus is on developing diagnostic tests for pediatric clinical microbiology and virology. Her two primary areas of interest are: molecular detection of respiratory viruses including influenza A/H1N1, and molecular characterization of antimicrobial resistance in Gram-negative bacterial infections. Dr Revell also uses these molecular tests to better understand the epidemiology and pathogenesis of pediatric respiratory viral disease and bacterial infections.
