About
Dr. Megan Severson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who discovered her passion for pediatric orthopedics during medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. After receiving her MD, she completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she worked with a broad spectrum of patients and gained valuable patient care and surgical skills. She followed this with a pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, then began her career as a general pediatric orthopedic surgeon in Roanoke, Virginia. She joined the Department of Surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital in 2023.
Dr. Severson believes in quality, efficient and patient-centered care. Her background as an elite gymnast and college cheerleader help her understand the importance of athletics while allowing her to provide realistic expectations for recovery. She enjoys educating patients and families and working with them towards the ultimate goal — to help kids get back to being kids.
