Personal Statement
Luana Da Silva, LCSW is a multilingual social worker who specializes in working with children and families who have experienced trauma and bereavement. She has practiced across various settings such as in a domestic and sexual violence shelter, a high school, and a child advocacy center. Luana has received specialized training in evidence-based treatment models in the area of child traumatic stress and bereavement, including CBT and somatic/body-based approaches to trauma resolution.
Luana is passionate about working with clients of diverse backgrounds, and has experience serving the Latinx community, particularly youth and families who have recently arrived to the U.S. and LGBTQ youth of color. In her work with clients, Luana engages in building a therapeutic alliance from the perspective of Relational-Cultural therapy, believing that at the center of healing is nurturing a professional relationship that acknowledges, validates and affirms the diverse experiences and identities of the youth she works with, allowing both them and her to be their authentic selves in session.
