Lisa Valentine is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is an assistant professor with appointments in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science. She completed her undergraduate work at Brown University and her medical training and residency at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Valentine practices at The Women's Place: Center for Reproductive Psychiatry in the Texas Children's Pavilion for Women at both the Texas Medical Center and Pearland locations, as well as at the Texas Children's Health Plan Center for Children and Women. The focus of her clinical work is in the treatment of women with mental health needs surrounding pregnancy and menopause, with particular interest in the treatment of postpartum depression and anxiety. Her academic focus is training residents in psychotherapy as well as the intersection of ethics and psychiatry.
