About
Dr. Kristen Kurtz completed her pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship training in 2022. She is board-certified in General Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. She has served children with a combination of developmental and mental health needs for over a decade and is excited to specialize in pediatric oncology with a focus on hematologic malignancies.
Her fellowship research was focused on uncovering the cellular and epigenetic mechanisms that drive the evolution from the preleukemic condition transient abnormal myelopoiesis (TAM) to acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in children with Down Syndrome. She is also interested in defining mechanisms of chemoresistance in high-risk leukemia in order to develop targeted treatment strategies and improve patient outcomes.
