Dr. Katherine Leaming-Van Zandt is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and an attending physician in the emergency centers of Texas Children's Hospital (TCH). She, also, serves as the Medical Director of the TCH West Campus Emergency Center.
Dr. Leaming-Van Zandt’s academic interests include relationship-centered communication and patient/caregiver education. In addition to leading a variety of multi-disciplinary committees and quality improvement projects designed to improve EC flow and efficiency, patient experience, and care coordination, Dr. Leaming-Van Zandt has given numerous local, regional, and national lectures on relationship-centered communication and patient/caregiver satisfaction and experience. Dr. Leaming-Van Zandt has, also, contributed to and been interviewed by numerous local, regional, and national media outlets on a variety of medically-relevant topics. She is one of the top physician contributors for the Texas Children’s Hospital Blog, and actively participates in a variety of community-driven and social media events.
