My education at UT Southwestern, both in the form of didactic courses and clinical rotations, prepared me to become a compassionate, skilled provider as part of the healthcare team.  I strive to provide patient- and family-centered care, with a special focus on education. My primary clinical interest is dysfunctional voiding. In conjunction with my advanced practice colleagues in Urology, we have developed the VIP clinic (Voiding Improvement Program). This is a specialized clinic for patients with bedwetting (nocturnal enuresis), daytime wetting, urinary urgency, frequency, or recurrent urinary tract infections. As part of the urology advanced practice team, I am taking part in research aimed at tracking clinical outcomes for these patients. I also have a special interest in following surgical urology patients throughout their course of care, from pre-operative evaluation to post-operative follow-ups. I feel this continuity of care is helpful to give our pediatric patients and their families a friendly face during what could otherwise be a stressful time.

I am also particularly interested in the training of new team members, as well as fostering interdisciplinary relationships among physician assistants and nurse practitioners in all departments at Texas Children’s Hospital. I feel it is important to keep a positive and collaborative working environment among all PAs and NPs at Texas Children’s Hospital, which allows us to focus on providing the highest level of care possible for our patients.
