I became a pediatrician because I love helping kids. They are what keep me energized and excited to come to work every day whether in the primary care clinics or within the hospital settings.
My philosophy on clinical care is that the child is most important and should receive the best services possible; that he/she is going to be cared for and healed by using the best knowledge, evidence, and practices known within medicine. Every child that I care for is a son or daughter and every one of them is relying on my team and me to deliver both great service and our expertise during every interaction we have.
My clinical interests focus on preventing individual illnesses from occurring through proper health and wellness education for not only the child, but also for his or her family since they are all critical members of the child's success and sustained healthiness. Furthermore, my research interests are in prevention of adult type chronic illnesses that are now presenting at younger ages ranging from young children to adolescent teens. By educating the families and children and by listening to them as valued members of the health team, I interact with all aspects of their health there by allowing us to improve health and decrease excessive use of unnecessary care in our health care systems.
