Get to know Haley Streff, MS, CGC
Personal Statement
Haley Streff is a certified pediatric and laboratory genetic counselor at Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine. She cares for patients in the genetics outpatient clinic at Texas Children's Hospital providing clinical evaluations, genetic testing coordination, and results disclosure and interpretation. She is also the lead genetic counselor for the Texas Children’s Hospital Genomic Laboratory Stewardship Program, which aims to improve access, utility, and safety of clinical genetic testing for all patients. Haley previously provided genetic counseling services as part of the multidisciplinary cleft lip and palate and craniofacial clinics. She remains passionate about advocacy for this patient population.
Haley’s research interest focuses on patient access to clinical genomic services and payer coverage and policy for genetic tests. She enjoys outreach work with organizations dedicated to rare diseases and/or increasing genomic education in the public and medical community. She strives to provide appropriate and comprehensive support and resources for any family seeking or receiving genomic services.
