Dr. Washington is a Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine\Texas Children's Hospital. She is a pediatric psychologist specializing in chronic health conditions in underserved populations. Dr. Washington serves as a psychology liaison to the Sickle Cell/Hematology, Retrovirology, Bariatric Surgery and Endocrinology Services within TCH. Her clinical interests also include adolescent depression, women's psychology, mental health issues and cultural practices of African Americans and multicultural issues in mental health.
Dr. Washington is the Director of Post-Doctoral Training within the Psychology Service. She serves on the Executive Board of the Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology Specialty of the American Board of Professional Psychology. Her research interests include examining psychosocial factors related to pediatric obesity, gastric bypass and sick cell disease. She has collaborated with multiple institutions in projects in these areas. Dr. Washington also participates in community outreach and enjoys speaking in the Houston community about mental health topics and career development.
