About
Dr. Washington is a Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine\Texas Children's Hospital. She is a pediatric psychologist specializing in chronic health conditions in underserved populations. Dr. Washington serves as a psychology liaison to the Sickle Cell/Hematology, Retrovirology, Young Women’s Clinic and Bariatric and Plastic Surgery Services within TCH. Her clinical interests also include women's psychology, mental health issues and cultural practices of African Americans and multicultural issues in mental health.
Dr. Washington is board certified in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. Her research interests include examining psychosocial factors related to pediatric obesity, gastric bypass and sickle cell disease. She has collaborated with multiple institutions in projects in these areas. Dr. Washington also participates in community outreach and enjoys speaking in the Houston community about mental health topics and career development.
