About

David G. Mann, MD, DBe, HEC-C is Chief of Clinical Ethics Services at Texas Children's Hospital and a Professor of Anesthesiology, Medical Ethics & Health Policy, & Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Mann has a broad range of interests and expertise. Dr. Mann is interested in identifying and/or developing anesthetic techniques for in-utero fetal interventions and also has an interest in the ethics of this type of intervention. While practicing full time as a pediatric anesthesiologist at Texas Children’s Hospital, he was able to pursue his interest in clinical ethics by initially obtaining a master’s degree in Bioethics and then going on to complete his doctorate in Medical Ethics from Loyola University in Chicago. In his role as an anesthesiologist he works in both the main TCH operating rooms and in the Pavilion for Women, having completed fellowships in both pediatric anesthesia and obstetrical anesthesia. He is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish, and leads an annual surgical mission to Guatemala.
