About

I have specialized in various areas over the span of my career as a medical speech-language pathologist. Multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary team experience has given me invaluable experience as a diagnostician and treating clinician.

My philosophy of care encompasses the following: a) staying as current as possible in populations served, b) implementing evidence based practice as much as possible, c) relying on clinical experience, and d) addressing functional skills within a developmental frame work. An overriding component of my philosophy is parent/family involvement and home practice to achieve carry over of learned skills.

I currently serve outpatients by providing speech and language evaluations for children followed in the Down Syndrome Clinic of Houston in the Meyer Center for Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics. A portion of my caseload involves diagnostics and management of children who require coordination of therapy services in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

Finally, I conduct preschool speech-language evaluations and clinical feeding/swallowing evaluations and provide therapy services for both areas. I hold certifications in Neonatal Oral Motor Assessment Scale (NOMAS), Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Treatment, and Infant Neurodevelopmental Treatment.

Clinical Interests:

Motor speech disorders: dysarthria & childhood apraxia of speech, feeding/swallowing, developmental disabilities & speech-language
