Immunology Testing Unit
The Immunology Testing Unit works to test the immune responses to our vaccine candidates. These include recombinant vaccines targeted at preventing neglected tropical diseases such as hookworm infection, Chagas disease, ascariasis, and trichuriasis. Common techniques used are multi-parametric flow cytometry, Luminex®, ELISA, and ELISPOT.
The unit works closely with the Antigen Discovery, Formulation, Quality Control, and Preclinical Testing Unit within the Texas Children's Hospital Center for Vaccine Development as well as in collaboration with other institutions including the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and the Autonomous University of Yucatán.
The unit shares collaborative laboratory space in Texas Children's Hospital Center for Vaccine Development.
