The Department of Pathology includes several services, listed below:

  • Division of Anatomic Pathology
    Providing consultation for anatomic pathology. Includes surgical pathology and evaluations of histologic (tissue) and cytologic (cell) specimens
  • Division of Community Pathology
    Providing general pathology/lab consultation for Texas Children’s West Campus and Woodlands
  • Division of Genomic Medicine
    Providing clinical consultation for molecular oncology/cancer genomics and medical metagenomics. This division includes discovery research programs in Pathology at Texas Children's Hospital.:

  • Division of Laboratory Medicine
    Providing consultation for clinical pathology and hematopathology
    • Outpatient Laboratories – The Outpatient Laboratories at Texas Children’s Hospital provide specimen collection services for patients at the Medical Center, West, and Woodlands campuses. These services are provided to registered patients of Texas Children’s Hospital.
  • Division of Transfusion Medicine & Coagulation
    Providing clinical consultation for coagulopathies and issues re: transfusion medicine
    • Blood Bank - Family members and friends interested in donating blood may call the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center at 713-790-1200 for locations of blood collection sites and hours of operation.
