How to Refer a Patient
Thank you for considering Texas Children’s Hospital for your patient’s medical needs.
The International Patient Services team offers you many services to support your patient and his/her family before, during and after their visit to Houston.
We kindly ask that, as your patient’s physician, you or the patient’s family contact the International Patient Services team directly (rather than a specific clinic, physician, or service line within the hospital) to ensure that all needed services are scheduled appropriately, upon review of medical records by the appropriate specialist(s), and that each family has everything they need for a successful visit.
To start the process, please send the following information to email@example.com:
- The patient or patient’s legal guardian(s)’ contact information
- Medical Records (in English): treatment summary to date including drug names, dates, and dosages, pertinent lab results and pertinent radiology reports. If you have any images (ultrasound, x-ray, MRI, CT scans, etc.) as part of the clinical file, please let us know so we can provide you with access to upload them
Please be aware that additional medical information may be requested upon contact with our team.
A member of our team will reply to your request and ask for additional information if necessary. Once we have everything we need to proceed, a dedicated International Patient Services Coordinator will be assigned to your request and contact you and/or the family for next steps.
After medical review and financial clearance is completed, an International Patient Services Coordinator will work with the patient to schedule appointments or services based on clinic availability and the patient’s schedule.
